Amplifying Women’s Voice in Leadership and Agency in Kenya’s Public and Civil Discourse Programme

 

This programme has been designed to support young women leaders to increase their participation in discussing pertinent national issues as the country moves towards the 2022 presidential elections. The programme will be conducted by the Centre for the Study of Adolescence (CSA) in partnership with Young Women Leadership Institute (YWLI), Fatuma’s Voice and Moi University.

Aim

The programme aims to strengthen communication and media engagement skills and capacities among women leaders from varied backgrounds, creating linkages with local networks and individuals including national champions on gender equality and leadership for mentorship. Ultimately, the programme should enable women to contribute effectively to the national discourse towards 2022 elections in selected regions of Western, Central and Coastal Kenya.

Target Audience

  • Women aged between 18-35 years of age.
  • Local residents of the following areas.

                     -Western-Vihiga County (Luanda Constituency)

                     -Central- Kiambu County (Kiambu Constituency)

                     -Coast- Kwale County (Kinango Constituency)

  • Must have attained at least Form Four level of Education (O-Level).
  • Persons with Disability and other marginalised groups from the above regions are also encouraged to apply.

 Project start and end Date

Start: September 2019- End date: April 2020
